The best tour for a Harry Potter freak
This tour was more fun than the official Warner Bros. Studios one in London! I LOVED seeing the real-life Tom Riddle grave, as well as the Moodie and McGonagall ones. Felt like I was genuinely looking at the book characters’ graves. It was also always a dream of mine to sit at The Elephant Cafe, so that’s one thing checked off the bucket list. I have to also mention our guide Robbie. He’s so enthusiastic, and very obviously an even bigger Harry Potter geek than I am. Highly recommend you book this tour, and ask for him!
Great combo Edinburgh tour
One of the better walking tours I’ve been on, just because of the way they structured it. Obviously most of it is Harry Potter-focused. Still, there was a decent amount of Edinburgh history sprinkled in also. For example, the Bobby story when we were at Greyfriars. I also loved the sorting and games at the end, although I’d argue I’m much more of a Ravenclaw than a Slytherin. Might just be me though! Also scored higher on the quiz than I thought I would, and I’m positive a fair part of that has to do with the tour lol.

Do you know J.K. Rowling’s ‘rags to riches’ story?
When J.K. Rowling began writing the Harry Potter books, she was a jobless single mother. She relied heavily on government assistance to provide for her daughter. It’s in these conditions she wrote the first Harry Potter book, often in cafés such as The Elephant House or Nicholson’s. The novels’ success, however, saved her from her difficult living conditions. She went on to attain huge wealth. In fact, she wrote the last scenes of her final Harry Potter novel in one of the Balmoral Hotel’s most luxurious suites: Room 552. The suite was renamed The J.K. Rowling Suite, and is a symbol of the success her hard work brought her.
